Newspaper article showing the hole created in the wall to enable access to Archbishop's Park, which opened on 26th May 1900. A second entry was later made in Lambeth Road over part of the Rectory garden. The park was created on land given by the Archbishop of Canterbury and cost £4,646 to 'fit out'. It was claimed that a large number of children could now gather in 'absolute security away from the bustle and danger of the streets'.Clipping from 'The Star' dated 31st May 1900, from a political scrapbook of the North Lambeth constituency.
