STOWEY HOUSE, SOUTH SIDE, CLAPHAM

Stowey House, South Side Clapham, was demolished in 1966 for the building of Henry Thornton Boys' Secondary School - now part of Lambeth College. First built c.1730, it was the childhood home of Lytton Strachey the author, and is seen here c.1930 when it was an 'Open Air School'.
