The trees, by tradition known as Captain Cook's Trees on Clapham Common North Side. For many years No.22 North Side was called Captain Cook's House, but there is no proof that he lived there, nor planted these trees in memory of his three sons. However, his widow Elizabeth lived in Clapham High Street from 1788 until her death in 1835.Scan from negative from the Clapham Antiquarian Society.
