4-8 OLD TOWN, CLAPHAM

Nos 4-8 Old Town, Clapham, a group of Georgian houses. No.4 (on the right) is Sycamore House, built in 1781 and used from 1898 by Alexander Leman for his Sycamore Laundry and Drycleaners. No.8 was formerly St Anne's House, home to the Sisters of Notre Dame and where the first Roman Catholic Mass in Clapham since the Reformation was said in 1847.
