8-14 OLD TOWN, CLAPHAM

8-14 OLD TOWN, CLAPHAM

8-14 Old Town Clapham - a terrace with shops including Sycamore Drycleaners and Laundry. The crest on the left-hand building is associated with the Bowyer and Stonhouse families, and supposedly came from the old Manor House. The right-hand building was formerly St Anne's House, the first Clapham home of the Sisters of Notre Dame. It was here that the first Roman Catholic Mass in Clapham since the Reformation was said in 1847.
