WESTBURY ESTATE, WANDSWORTH ROAD, CLAPHAM

The Westbury Estate off Wandsworth Road seen from St Paul's churchyard, Clapham. The two twenty-one storey tower blocks, Amesbury Tower and Durrington Tower, were built 1964-67 by the GLC before a policy of creating more homely, low-rise designs was implemented. Photographed on 8th September 1970.
