St Peter's church in Kennington Lane, Vauxhall. The church was built in 1864 to the design of John L.Pearson (1817-97) in the Italian Gothic style. Constructed on the site of Vauxhall Gardens, the adjacent Georgian house was originally the Garden Manager's house and later became the Vicarage. On the left is the former St Peter's Orphanage and Training College, also designed by Pearson to accommodate orphaned daughters of the clergy.
