Artwork by UK graffiti artist Ame72 at the Cans Festival, Waterloo. Ame trained as a graphic designer and is currently based in Tel Aviv. He began tagging aged 11 years after watching the film 'Beat Street', creating a large artwork in chalk at his school in Poynton. He considers graffiti 'creative vandalism' and it now provides a full-time career for him. Ame finds illegal pieces are more fun because of working without restrictions: "you don't get an adrenalin rush doing legal stuff". Notable pieces include; 'Where's the Missing Peace?' done on the Israeli security wall in Bethlehem, and 'Rooms for Rent' done outside Buckingham Palace, to highlight homelessness in the UK. He is also working on a project with Palestinian & Israeli artists: "we're just trying to make a difference, one step in the right direction is better than no step at all."Digital image of 5th May 2008.
