A class of the 'Senior Practising School, Stockwell College'. The college was built in 1861 by the British and Foreign School Society as a 'Training College for Mistresses' and had practising schools attached. Standard IV is shown here, with their teacher Miss Alexander (standing in third row) and the pupil annotated by the 'X' is Edith C. Gale.
