ALBERT EMBANKMENT, LAMBETH

ALBERT EMBANKMENT, LAMBETH

Part of Albert Embankment with the Old Father Thames public house on the corner with Salamanca Place - now the site of a luxury hotel. This section was originally known as Princes Street, running parallel to the Thames from Broad Street to Vauxhall High Street and lined with warehouses and premises which were demolished when the embankment was constructed. The pub was built in 1958, replacing the nearby Red Cow public house. Dated 11th August 1983.
