ST SAVIOUR’S, LAMBERT ROAD, BRIXTON HILL

St Saviour's church in Lambert Road, Brixton Hill. The foundation stone was laid in July 1874 by James Watney MP and it was built in Kentish-rag and Bath stone by the architect E.C.Robins in the Early French Gothic style. Originally it accommodated up to 1,000 parishioners, but closed in the 1976 as an Anglican church. The building was then leased for worship as the New Testament Church of God, Brixton, Community Church.  Ref. LBL/DTP/UD/2/2/6/28
