DANCER, QUEEN ANNE PUBLIC HOUSE, VAUXHALL WALK, VAUXHALL

A dancer at the Queen Anne public house in Vauxhall Walk. London's most historic strippers' pub began providing adult entertainment in 1959 when the landlord George Lever had a dancer perform on stage for an hour or so each Friday and Saturday night. From 1982 it has been run by Denise D'Courtenay who introduced pole dancing in the 1990s and has a rota of 25 women dancing each week. The Queen Anne celebrated its 50th anniversary as a venue in 2009.Digital image by kind permission of Enzo Peccinotti. No commercial reproduction without the prior consent of the photographer.
