JOHN RUSKIN’S HOUSE, 28 HERNE HILL

The garden of John Ruskin's house at No.28 Herne Hill, where he lived with his parents from 1823 until 1843. Ruskin then lived at No.163 Denmark Hill from 1843-1872, apart from short intervals away. The Herne Hill house was demolished in the summer of 1914.After the watercolour by E.M.B.Warren, from 'Homes and Haunts of John Ruskin' by E.T.Cook, published 1912, George Allen.
