The graveyard of St Mary-at-Lambeth with the tomb of the two John Tradescants to the right. The church was deconsecrated and closed in 1972, and for many years lay abandonded and overgrown. In 1976 the graveyard was cleared by Lambeth Council and these flowerbeds planted by Miss Kit Lynch MBE, just prior to the church being saved from demolition by Rosemary and John Nicholson. They established here the world's first Museum of Garden History as a memorial to the Tradescants and created a 17th century-style garden designed by Mary Searls, John Drake and the Marchioness of Salisbury.
