BRIDGE HOUSE, LAMBETH ROAD, LAMBETH

'Old Houses, Lambeth Bridge' by W.H.Chatfield, shows the buildings at the western end of Lambeth Road (Church Street) adjacent to the bridge. The Star and Garter public house on the left next to a tobacconist, and adjacent Bridge House states 'This is Akerman, Dining Room, Tea, Coffee'. The houses had been demolished by the end of the 1880s although the site was left vacant for many years.
