DAME VIVIENNE WESTWOOD, FASHION DESIGNER BY ENZO PECCINOTTI

The fashion designer and Clapham resident Vivienne Westwood backstage at London Fashion Week, 21st February 2010 at the Royal Courts of Justice. One of Britain's most innovative and influential fashion designers, she invented Punk fashion in the 1970s with her then partner Malcolm McLaren, manager of the Sex Pistols band. Awarded a DBE in 2006 for services to fashion, Dame Vivienne lived in a Clapham council flat for 30 years and, although she now lives in an historic Old Town property, she is renowned for her modest lifestyle. She cycles to her Battersea studio and once remarked 'all I've got at home are two second-hand armchairs, a trestle table, a fridge and a cooker'.Photograph by kind permission of Enzo Peccinotti.
