'Old River Shore near Broad Street', an etching after a photograph by William Strudwick depicting riverfront of houses in Upper Fore Street. Strudwick was known to also known to etch and produce prints of his photographs. His stamp imprinted on the mounts of his photographs states: 'W. Strudwick, Draughtsman and Photographer, Thurlow Park Road, W. Dulwich SE.' The 1884 Street Directory records him living at Albany Villa, No.68 Thurlow Park Road. This image was also printed on 9th June 1905 in the South London Mail with a caption noting: 'Although improved and remodelled, Lambeth has still many beauty spots today'. However, this view had been swept away about 40 years earlier with the construction of Albert Embankment.
