Interior of the Royal Vauxhall Tavern in Kennington Lane, Vauxhall. The Tavern was built in 1863 and celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2013. In the 1940s war years, female impersonators often performed here attracting returning service men and a local gay clientele and the pub has continued to do so since, making it London's longest-running gay venue.
