NINE ELMS POINT DEVELOPMENT, WANDSWORTH ROAD, VAUXHALL

The Nine Elms Point residential development on the former site of Sainsbury's supermarket in Wandsworth Road, Vauxhall, with the American Embassy under construction beyond the railway line. The right-hand side of the photograph was the site of the Queen's Station (or Royal Station), used by Queen Victoria for access to the royal train and particularly travel to Southampton and on to Osborne House in the Isle of Wight. It ceased to be used after her death in 1901 and was eventually demolished. Digital image dated 17th March 2015.
