VAUXHALL BRIDGE, VAUXHALL

VAUXHALL BRIDGE, VAUXHALL

Vauxhall Bridge from the Thames riverbed looking north. The first Vauxhall bridge was built in 1816 and was replaced by the current one in 1906 designed by Sir Alexander Binnie, although the original elegant balustrade has since been replaced. The bridge was the first bridge in London to accommodate a tramway. From a series of Public Relations Photographs and Negatives
