BILL POSTING, MR WARD, BRIXTON, FROM KENNINGTON LAMP-LIGHTER

A lamp-lighters account book with the amount owed by Mr Ward of Brixton for bill posting services from December 1841 to December 1843. Among the posting undertaken were bills for; a 'Missionary Sermon' at the Holland Chapel in Brixton Road costing 2/- 6p, watering roads, a sermon at Thomas Street Sunday School 'on the death of a boy at the Wadding Factory', contracts for dustmen and the 6th anniversary of the Claylands Chapel (October 30th).From Lamp Book of a Kennington Lamp-Lighter, 1829-44.
