ROSENDALE HALL, PARK HALL ROAD, WEST DULWICH

The garden front of Rosendale Hall in Park Hall Road in West Dulwich, c.1875. The photo was annotated 'Dated 1658' [the Hall]. The Hall was built in 1658 and said to be used as a hunting lodge by King Charles II. It was visited by the diarist John Evelyn in 1677 when occupied by Lord Brounker. Demolition of the Hal began in January 1901 and twelve houses were erected on the site. From 'History and Antiquities of Camberwell' by W.H.Blanch, with additions by W.F.Noble.
