Wedding group photograph, taken outside Raleigh Park Baptist Church, Brixton Hill. The bride, a nurse, is seen here with the bridesmaids, who also worked as nurses in London hospitals at the time. The groom, who had arrived in England in 1955 was employed as a bus conductor and later worked for the G.P.O., following which he started a successful career in journalism and teaching. The best man, Roy Henry, second from the right, was a distinguished bass baritone, who had performed at many London venues including the Wigmore Hall.Wedding album photograph, 24th June1961Copyright with donor.
