Wedding photograph showing a young Jamaican couple, married at Raleigh Park Baptist Church on 24th June 1961, seen here with the bridesmaids at the reception held in No.15 Crawshey Road (now replaced by a housing estate), North Brixton. The bride and bridesmaids worked as nurses in London, and the groom, who had arrived in England in 1955, was employed as a bus conductor at the time and later worked for the G.P.O. followed by a successful career in journalism and teaching.
