FREDERICK JOHNSON, STREATHAM V.C. RECIPIENT, WORLD WAR I

A report on the award of a Victoria Cross for conspicuous bravery to Lt. Frederick Henry Johnson, aged 25 from Streatham. On 25th September 1915, Lt Johnson of the Royal Engineers, lead his men to repeatedly attack Hill 90, a German redoubt, even though wounded himself and under very heavy fire. From the South London Press, dated 26th November 1915.
