ROYAL FESTIVAL HALL, SOUTH BANK, WATERLOO

Views of the site being cleared for the construction of The Royal Festival Hall in 1949.  On top looking towards Waterloo Bridge and the Shot Tower, and the site eight months later seen below, showing work in progress.  The concert hall was designed as part of the 1951 Festival of Britain by the L.C.C. architect, Robert Matthew.
