ANTI-GERMAN RIOTS, LAMBETH WALK, WORLD WAR I

Rioting in Lambeth Walk during World War I with police preventing an attack on the bakery of Christopher Gilsdorf & Sons at No.126. The German sinking of the Luisitania induced anti-German sentiment that led to mobs damaging shops and businesses owned by Germans, or those suspected of being of German origin. From the South London Press, dated 14th May 1915, page 5.
