BONNER’S HOUSE, LAMBETH MARSH

A view of an ancient house in Lambeth Marsh and of people at a water pump.Tradition says that this house was once the residence of Bishop Bonner, the Bishop of London during the time of Henry VIII. It was demolished in July 1823. Watercolour by Sir Thomas Gage, dated 1809.
