BOXES, ROYAL FESTIVAL HALL, SOUTH BANK

BOXES, ROYAL FESTIVAL HALL, SOUTH BANK

Private boxes in the auditorium of the Royal Festival Hall. Originally built as part of the 1951 Festival of Britain, to a design by the L.C.C. architect, Robert Matthew. The acoustics prevent the sound of the trains being heard within the auditorium as they cross the nearby Hungerford Bridge. Digital image courtesy of Penelope Gretton, 2004.
