Brockwell Park Lido on a summer's day. The Lido was built by the London County Council in 1937 at a cost of £25,000. It was closed by Lambeth Council in 1990. In 1994 a 7-year lease was given to Paddy Castledine and Casey McGlue, young entrepreneurs formerly associated with the Lido. In 2001 Brockwell Lido Users (BLU) was formed and the Lido was listed Grade II in 2003. The Lido was redeveloped in 2006-07 with the addition of fitness facitilities for out of season use.Photograph by kind permission of Emily Barney.
