BRONZE FIGURE FOUND AT CHURCH OF ENGLISH MARTYRS, STREATHAM

A bronze figure found in a ditch, or possibly a Roman earthwork, when digging the northern foundations for the Catholic Church of the English Martyrs in 1892. It is thought to perhaps be a votive figure of the goddess Venus.Ref: SP24/32/1a
