CEDARS ROAD, CLAPHAM

CEDARS ROAD, CLAPHAM

LCC housing development on the east side of Cedars Road, Clapham, photograph taken on February 14th 1966. Cedars Road was laid out on the site of The Cedars, a large mansion on Clapham Common North Side which was demolished in 1860. Following bomb damage to some of the original buildings designed by J.T Knowles which stood on this site, most of them were demolished and replaced by the Cedars Road Estate, built by the London County Council in the 1960s.
