CLAPHAM COMMON

The earliest known photograph of Clapham Common taken c.1860 by Henry Deane. He was a local chemist and his shop at No.17 The Pavement still survives. In 1843 he married Jemima Elliott who ran a school at Weimar House. He also became a churchwarden. Copy print c.1930 from original photograph.
