Clapham Library, Clapham Common North Side, was built in 1889, to a design entitled 'light' by the architect E.B.I'Anson. The library was opened by Lord Avebury on 31st October 1889. View of the arched doorway leading from the entrance hall to the main reading room and the ornate newel post just visible on the left, at the bottom of the large curved staircase leading to the first floor.Ref: M14-11-82/ A10
