CLAPHAM LIBRARY, CLAPHAM COMMON NORTH SIDE, CLAPHAM

Clapham Library, Clapham Common North Side, was built in 1889, to a design entitled 'light' by the architect E.B.I'Anson. The library was opened by Lord Avebury on 31st October 1889. A great deal of window area and ceiling light wells provide ample light to the news and periodicals room seen here, supplemented by suspended artificial lighting. Ref: M14-11-82/ B1
