An invitation ticket issued to J B Nicholls Esq., to view the sale by auction of 'the valuable works in terra-cotta at Coade's celebratory manufactory' in Belvedere Road, Lambeth, 'comprising perfect and imperishable fac-similes of celebrated ancient and modern works of art'. The sale, on Friday 21st July 1843, marked the closure of Mrs Eleanor Coade's celebrated Lambeth artificial stone manufactory, established by her in 1769.
