The 'Dog and Duck', a place of entertainment that rivalled the Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens in the late 1700s. The sign was embedded in the wall of Bethlehem Hospital, and the house located in the site of the present day Imperial War Museum.Engraving from an article entitled 'Lambeth 1839', in the commemorative Jubilee booklet published by Messrs.Francis & Son (Department Store) in 1889.
