Edmund Bonner (1500-69) was Bishop of London 1539-49 and 1553-59 and was supposed to have a house in Lambeth Marsh. He was known as 'Bloody Bonner', due to his notoriety for his role in the persecution and torture of heretics during the reign of Catholic Queen Mary I, 'Bloody Mary'.Engraving from 'The History & Antiquities of Lambeth Palace'.Ref: 12/187
