EUSTRATIO RALLI MAUSOLEUM, NORWOOD CEMETERY, WEST NORWOOD

The white marble mausoleum of Eustratios Ralli designed by Edward M Barry in the Renaisance style, situtated in the Greek Section of Norwood Cemetery. An influx of refugees from Greece in 1822, after the Greek War of Independence, brought many merchants to London, several of whom leased ground in the unconsecrated area of the cemetery in 1842. St Stephen's chapel was later built here and the expanded area includes several mausolea for members of the Ralli family. Photograph by Eric de Mare
