FORMER BON MARCHE STORE, BRIXTON ROAD, BRIXTON

No. 414-444 Brixton Road, the former Bon Marche, renamed here 'The Bon'. The store's closure in the mid-1970s ended almost a century of trading in Brixton. It was opened on 1st April 1877 at a cost of £70,000 and was one of London's first department stores. Photograph by Sam Lambert.
