Frederick Henry Grubb (27 May 1887 - 6 March 1949) the 'well-known' Brixton cycle maker, was Britian's fastest road racer pre-war and won two silver road medals at the 1912 Olympic games in Stockholm. He retired from professional racing in 1914 and established a cycle manufacturing business in Brixton, although immediately worked in a muntions factory at the outbreak of war. In 1922 he opened a shop at 31 Robsart Street, Brixton/ Stockwell, which he continued until 1935, briefly also occupying No.50 from 1925-26. From Brixton Illustrated Press, March 1923
