Gertrude Martin (1881-1952) was made the only British female master mosaicist in 1911 and lived at No.24 St James's Crescent, Angell Town from 1903-1952. Her work includes mosaics in Westminster Cathedral, Wilton Church, St John's Angell Town, Belfast Cathedral and Houses of Parliament.
