Two workmen with a mammoth's shoulder blade, discovered near Belgrave Hospital in Clapham Road, Oval. The 10,000-year old remains measured 3ft 4in by 2ft 8in and were 6 feet below the then ground level.From: Daily Mirror 11th February 1925
