The cricketer Jack Hobbs portrayed in a cartoon with a tribute statue punning on 'ducks'. Sir John 'Jack' Hobbs (1882-1963) was one of the greatest batsmen, scoring over 61,000 runs and 199 centuries. He played for the Surrey Cricket Club, based at the Oval from 1905-1934, and England from 1908-1930, batting in 61 test matches.
