LAMBETH PALACE & ST MARY’S CHURCH, LAMBETH PALACE ROAD

The medieval tower of St Mary-at-Lambeth adjacent to the Tudor gatehouse of Lambeth Palace. In 1977 the church was saved from demolition by Rosemary and John Nicholson, who established in it the world's first Museum of Garden History as a memorial to the John Tradescants, 17th century gardeners buried in the graveyard.
