LAMBETH RECTORY, 214 LAMBETH ROAD, LAMBETH

LAMBETH RECTORY, 214 LAMBETH ROAD, LAMBETH

The former rectory to St Mary's church at 214 Lambeth Road. It was built originally in 1778 by William Head and Joseph Buckmaster on a piece of waste ground given for the purpose by Archbishop Cornwallis. The land was formerly the site of one of the manorial pounds. The building was extended eastwards in 1828-29 and has since been partially rebuilt, losing its upper storey, after receiving bomb damage in World War II.
