LUNCHEON CLUB, LAMBETH TOWERS, KENNINGTON ROAD, LAMBETH

A Luncheon Club/ Day Centre for elderly Lambeth residents, part of a combined scheme of housing and community services built at Lambeth Towers, on the corner of Kennington and Lambeth Roads. In 1964 Lambeth Council approved the construction of Lambeth Towers as 'a mixed development of housing, group practice, Registrars' Office, old people's luncheon club and shops', however the building was not completed until 1971. Photograph by Sam Lambert, dated 28th February 1978.
