MEMORIAL TO NANCY STORACE, ST MARY’S CHURCH, LAMBETH

Watercolour of the memorial designed by Sir John Soane to Ann Selina (Nancy) Storace (1766 - 1817), the noted soprano who became Mozart's first Susanna in his 'Marriage of Figaro'. She spent her latter years living in Herne Hill Cottage and the memorial was erected in St Mary's by her mother, but only the central tablet now survives.
