A horse-drawn funeral cortege making its way along Norwood Road towards Lansdowne Hill. The Penny Magazine 24th February 1900 stated; '30,000 horses are employed in vehicular traffic in London....with 100,000 vehicles passing through the City during twenty-four hours'.
