No.40 Poynders Road, originally part of the Clapham Park Estate which was started in the 1830s by the developer Thomas Cubitt. Seen here with its conservatory and coach-house viewed from the rear in a derelict condition before it was due to be demolished as part of a social housing programme by the London County Council, which resulted in the building of the Poynders Garden Estate and the opening of Agnes Riley Garden, a newly created public park.
